Citizens Advice has compiled a ranking system of the fifteen largest energy suppliers, based on how efficiently the companies dealt with complaints received from small business owners each quarter.

Problems with an energy supplier can cost small businesses both time and money, so it is imperative that they know which ones are best.

Some of the common problems faced by small businesses include inaccurate billing or issues with contracts.

Each supplier’s score is based off how serious the complaints against them were and how long they took to resolve the issues. Each score is out of 10,000, with a lower score indicating that a supplier has better dealt with complaints.

SSE and E.ON Energy lead the table and have been improving even further since last quarter, showing a dedication to customer service.

On the other hand, Extra Energy has an appallingly high score which has continued to rise over the winter period. We advise small business owners who are using any of the companies towards the bottom of our table to review their energy plans and make sure they are getting the best possible deal.
