National Consumer Week National Consumer Week 2016 is about helping millions of consumers of electrical goods understand their rights and the importance of product safety. The annual campaign is being held a little later this year, taking place from 28 November to 2 December. The timing follows feedback from partners that our messages can be helpful at two key dates in the pre-Christmas consumer calendar - Black Friday and Cyber Monday. National Consumer Week is being led by Citizens Advice, the Chartered Institute of Trading Standards and National Trading Standards with the support of the government department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The National Consumer Week campaign has been running since 1989 and has covered different themes each year such as second hand car buying, car boot sales, child car seats, quality of goods and customer care. The 2014 campaign, “Good Neighbours stop Rogue Traders”, which focussed on tackling doorstep crime, won the partnership category of the 2015 UK Public Sector Communications Awards. Information, advice and resources are available from our advisors here in the Davidson Building all week. Booking for this event has now closed.
