We are an independent Gateshead-based charity with a vision of a fair society for all, with lives well lived.

As we start to drive forward our new strategy for 2019-21 we are looking for Trustees to join us on our journey, to support us in our mission to mobilise knowledge so the system works, it works for everyone, and it powers the changes we need to be an equal and inclusive society.

Citizens Advice Gateshead operates locally, regionally and nationally as an affiliated member of the national Citizens Advice network, delivering impartial, free advice and information to help people to know and understand their rights and responsibilities.  Our Trustee Board supports a talented team of staff and volunteers who, collectively, have been integral to the impact we have made throughout our 60 year history.

As we now move into the next challenging and exciting phase of our development we are looking for two new Trustees to further strengthen our board. As a Trustee you will play a key role, not only ensuring that our charitable objectives are achieved, but that our efforts are recognised as both ethical and inspirational, further embedding us as a leading light in the community and voluntary sector.

We are looking for ...

  • People who have an aspiration to really make a difference to a North East charity which is already a key contributor to the social welfare landscape
  • Exceptional individuals who share our values, who can challenge our thinking, and who will help us to bring creativity into our problem-solving
  • Trustees who believe, as we do, that together we can be a compelling force for change to bring our vision of a fair society for all within our reach

If this is you we'd really like to talk to you.

Please email Alison Dunn, Chief Executive Officer to express your interest in attending an open information session to find out more about us, or apply in writing explaining why you would like to join us on our journey.
