6 novice cyclists are setting off on Saturday 29th September from Silloth on the West Cumbrian coast to cycle the 115 miles back to Gateshead. This won't be easy - did I mention we are novices?!

But we're taking up the challenge to raise incredibly important funds to enable Citizens Advice Gateshead (which is a local independent charity, not part of a big national concern that's funded by national government ...) to help more people to understand their rights and responsibilities so they can keep moving forward in their lives despite facing often life-changing challenges.

When a family faces a challenge such as a child with cancer it really can topple their world upside down. The last thing they want to be thinking about is how they will be able to cope with the extra financial pressure that brings, but unfortunately that is a sad reality.

Citizens Advice Gateshead provides families with critical and expert support, advice, information and advocacy - in times of trouble we need to be there to help. With our support people can get back on track, with the peace of mind that they can focus once again on their loved ones rather than worrying about lost income, possibly losing their job, bills and debts mounting and - the worst possible outcome - losing their family home.

Please DIG DEEP and DONATE. Every pound counts.

THANK YOU Alison, Jayne, Michael, Mike, Lee, Laura
