Workforce Development Manager

The role: You will support the Service Delivery Manager to develop and deliver our workforce development and talent strategy ensuring our people have the skills and knowledge they need to perform well and achieve the aspirations of the charity.

A bit about us: Citizens Advice Gateshead is an independent local charity committed to helping people find their way forward and overcome the problems they face.  We do this by providing free, confidential advice, and by campaigning to make society fairer for everyone.  We have strong values and we expect our people to live our values every day.

Our aspiration: We expect change and we must be able to adapt.  We need to find new ways of mobilising human effort and to help our people grow and evolve. Designing and delivering compelling rewards is also a critical consideration for us.  We want to create a forward looking talent strategy that identifies what kinds of people we should hire, enables problem solving and creativity whilst optimising the working conditions of both employees and volunteers to encourage retention, communication, collaboration and ownership for the health of the organisation.

What you can expect:  If you come and work for us you can expect an organisation that is innovative and forward thinking.  Uncompromising in its drive for a fairer society for all, determined to make a difference so our beneficiaries enjoy lives well lived.  As we develop our ideas around cross-functional teams and collaboration, this role is key to helping us shift away from rigid job descriptions towards a more fluid way of managing the talents of our staff and volunteers. You will lead the way in crafting a learning pathway that reflects the true capability of our staff and volunteers, acknowledging their skill sets, and aptitudes, and enabling us to develop a workforce that is critically thinking, multi-skilled, creative and multi-tasking.
